Determination of Silver in Silver bath

Quantifying the silver content in a silver plating bath is crucial to ensuring coating quality, optimising the galvanic process and reducing costs. The correct content ensures uniform, bright and adherent deposits, avoiding defects. Monitoring the concentration allows the addition of silver salts to be adjusted, minimising waste and environmental risks, and maintaining the efficiency of the bath, prolonging its useful life.

Method

Test type: End Point.

Testing time: 2 minutes.

Analysis sessions with multiple samples are possible up to a maximum of 16 tests for CDR GalvanLab® and 3 tests for CDR GalvanLab® Junior.

6%

Sample treatment

The sample must be diluted.

Principle of the test

Silver content is determined by its reaction with a chromogen that develops a coloration, the optical intensity of which is proportional to the concentration of the analyte in the analyzed sample.

Calibration curve

Calibration curve was obtained by correlating the CDR method with the reference method.
